My passion for photography started about ten years ago. I was in South Africa and was utterly disappointed with the quality of my digital point-and-shoot camera in low-light situations. So I purchased a professional DSLR camera and was keen to figure out how to make great images. First it was all digital. And I didn’t stick to a particular genre or style. I was just experimenting and having fun, mostly on my travels.
During the last couple of years my life was like a roller-coaster ride with a lot of happy and also some mournful moments. Both experiences made me think about (the sense of) life differently. And my mindset about art and photography has changed, too.
I believe that everyone should do what they love to do – for the highest good of all. I love being in nature and walk through historic places. And it’s the process of photographing that is most joyful to me. The results are secondary. That is the reason why I am so attracted to film photography recently. I love the simplicity of the gear and the unique look that film produces. It’s far from being perfect. It is charismatic and distinctive. So is life.
“I take photographs with love, so I try to make them art objects. But I make them for myself first and foremost – that is important.”
– Jacques-Henri Lartigue
I feel passionate about creating art photographs. It fulfills me in a way where I am deeply in peace with myself and the world.
There are no rules – just pure joy in expressing myself freely.
My works of art take people to a different world, allowing the observer to dream.
I inspire people to feel the same passion and create a joyful life.
